Biography

  • Professional Waldorf educator, committed to imagination in education. As an educational storyteller, she is member of the Imaginative Education Research Group at Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC.
  • Facilitates creative community story events, such as the Welsh Mabinogion Epic 2003 and the monthly Cric?-Crac! sessions for the West Vancouver Community Arts Council.
  • Profiled in Mentors in our Midst (West Vancouver Community Arts Council, December 2003) in recognition of her initiative in community storytelling.
  • A national member of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers, the National Storytelling Network and the Vancouver Society of Storytelling.
  • The mother of a creative Downs Syndrome teenager, Abegael is committed to bringing the joy of storytelling to special communities. She is listening for the healing myth of our time while her son Aiden searches in the nearby forest for swords in stones. (Abegael suspects that he already knows the real story by heart).
  • Awarded first place in storytelling at the 2003 North American Festival of Wales Eisteddfod.
